Performer Acknowledgements

Thank you for your interest in performing with Mustache Envy Drag & Queerlesque!
Please read and review these guidelines.
Submissions are open only at the beginning of the year between 01/12-02/28/2025A. We are a fully casted show but in the event we have guest spots open, we’re open to submissions.

 

Review

  • You must be over 21 years of age. Friday evenings at Sue Ellen’s is ONLY 21+

  • Please submit a video of the performance you are submitting. A VIDEO IS REQUIRED; even rehearsal in your living room is ok.

  • Know your audience! Join us at a Mustache Envy Drag & Queerlesque show so you get a sense of the atmosphere at Sue Ellens.

  • GLITTER &/or FIRE is NOT to be used or thrown!

  • Use of confetti, confetti canons, use of food, or any kind of liquid MUST be pre-approved! Not getting approval will ban you from future shows. Food &/or liquid require a tarp!

  • If you plan on stripping:

    • FULL booty MUST be covered (tights or fishnets can be used).

    • Under the breast to the areola MUST be covered. (Ex. demi-bras with pasties are ok! No exceptions!!

Cast

  • A few weeks before show, a Facebook message will be created with any up-to-date show information.
    A tech link will be provided in that message thread.

    • Music and tech are due the SUNDAY before the show by 5:30pm. There is an area in the form to submit music but music can be sent via email to mustacheenvymusic@gmail.com in an MP3 format if any problems should arise.

    • Label music with your performer name & name of song. Ex. “Cher-IGotYouBabe.mp3”

  • You are required to promo the show you are performing in on your social media accounts & tag “Mustache Envy” on social media.

Show Day Expectations

  • Call time is 8:00pm, upstairs in the dressing room. Check in with the stage manager (Danny Fox-Trot).

  • Show starts at 9:00pm! Be downstairs/at stage side, at least, 1 number before your act. Show ends with a hard stop by 10:30 pm.

  • The dressing room is reserved for cast & crew only! It is a SMALL space. Do not bring guests into the dressing room area.

  • RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PERFORMERS! Allow individuals time & space (including headspace) to prep for the show. It can sometimes get stressing pre-show but we will not tolerate “diva attitudes” backstage & you will be asked to leave without compensation in the event an unresolvable problem arises.

  • Cast call is REQUIRED after the show; you must stay for the entire show. Please be at stage left (near the stairs) by the last act.

  • Payout is immediately after the show. Please return to the dressing room after the show to sign out for payout.

  • Please be responsible with your alcohol usage; at producer’s discretion, we will remove you from the show without compensation, if you appear to be too intoxicated or under the influence.

  • The stage is the “enclosed” dance floor on the 1st floor & is a “thrust” stage. We encourage interacting with the audience. Some seating is at the side & back portions on the floor. There are some bar stools directly outside the floor & at the bar but it is mostly standing room.

  • We will have a stage kitten/tom cat. They will pick up clothing & tips after your act & bring them to you at side stage or leave them upstairs. You do not have to worry about picking up your items after your act.

  • We promote consent - if you ever feel your safety is compromised or if you are approached inappropriately while performing, in costume (on or off stage), be sure and tell a producer or the stage manager so we can have the person removed from the property.

  • CLEAN UP YOUR AREA and any trash you may have left behind in the dressing room! Be sure to double check your costumes & props before you leave; we do our best to double check the dressing room before we leave for the night but we cannot be responsible for any items that may be left behind.

If you are casted for a show, you will be a representative for Mustache Envy but are responsible for your behavior. Behavior unbecoming of Mustache Envy’s values will not be tolerated and you will be removed from your booking and any future bookings.
